Scott Weiland, ex-Stone Temple Pilots singer, found dead on tour bus
Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus on Thursday, a post on his Instagram and several news reports in the US have said.

According to the statement on his Instagram account, Weiland, 48, was on tour with his current band, The Wildabouts, when he passed away in his sleep. The band was on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Music industry website Consequence of Sound reported that Weiland's passing was first mentioned by collaborator and Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro in a tweet, which has since been deleted.
"Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight," Navarro tweeted.
The official Wildabouts page has yet to post a statement as regards Weiland, but the LA Times reported that the band's concert at the Medina Entertainment Center in Hamel had been cancelled.
As the frontman of the Stone Temple Pilots, Weiland and his bandmates released hit albums with several singles reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Rock Charts, including "Interstate Love Song" and “Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart."
The hit single "Plush" earned him his first Hard Rock Performance Grammy in 1994 He again won a Grammy in 2005 with Velvet Revolver. —Rie Takumi/NB, GMA News
