Vanessa Hudgens' father passes away hours before ‘Grease: Live’
American actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens was only hours away from going onstage in Fox's production of “Grease: Live” when she announced the tragic news of her father's death through a Twitter post on Sunday morning.
“I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg, passed away from stage 4 cancer. Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers,” she said.

The “High School Musical” star had initially revealed her father's condition and asked her friends and fans to pray for his recovery in July 2015.
Despite her father's passing, Vanessa chose to continue with her performance on Sunday night, together with Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, Carly Rae Jepsen, Keke Palmer, Jordan Fisher, and the rest of the ‘Grease’ cast.
Tonight, I do the show in his honor.
