Anne Hathaway is set to star in ‘Princess Diaries 3’

After starring in the 2001 American comedy film “The Princess Diaries,” followed by the sequel “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement”, award-winning Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway is set to star in the third installment of the franchise, according to director Garry Marshall.

 

In an interview with People.com, Marshall said, “I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan.”

 

“Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we're going to do it," he added.

 

Aside from Hathaway, “Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” star Chris Pine might also be on board for the film.

 

“Maybe... He's quite big now, you know,” the director said.

 

Pine revealed earlier that he was open to the idea of starring in a new “Princess Diaries” film, after a fan asked whether he would like another installment for the franchise. 

 

Anne Hathaway and her husband, producer Adam Shulman, are expecting their first child this year.
