Grimmie had just finished performing at Orlando's Plaza Live and was signing autographs at a merchandise table when a yet to identified man approached and open fired. Grimmie's brother was present at the event and he tackled the gunman. The latter shot and killed himself during the struggle.
According to a report by The Guardian, Orlando Police credits Grimmie's brother for preventing more injuries or deaths at the scene.
She died in front of her brother. In front of her fans. That's just the worst part about it. She was only 22. Just a kid, living her dream.
