Did Samuel L. Jackson confirm solo Nick Fury movie?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is constantly changing and growing, with three more films—"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "Thor: Ragnarok"—being added to the list this year.

Marvel Studios is not stopping there either, as it sets its sights on bringing more grand and extravagant movies in the next few years, including "Avengers: Infinity War" and its untitled sequel, which will feature almost every character from previous phases of the highly ambitious yet money-generating franchise.

While he hasn’t made an appearance since his last cameo in 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ulton”, Nicky Fury actor Samuel L. Jackson is still expected to reprise his role as the former head of S.H.I.E.L.D and friend to the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

During an interview with radio station Hot 97 to promote “Kong: Skull Island,” the actor may have let slip that his next involvement with Marvel may not be in the Avengers films, but actually a “Nick Fury” solo film that has him chasing after an old  adversary of Captain America: The Red Skull.

“You didn’t see me in [Captain America:] Civil War. I’m still out there trying to figure out what The Skull is [doing?]…” he said.

Take that with a grain of salt, but seeing a Nick Fury solo film happen in “Phase 4” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be interesting to say the least, not to mention one that has him chasing after the Red Skull. The villain was only featured in Chris Evans’ first Captain America outing, “Captain America: The First Avenger” (2011), where he was played by Hugo Weaving.

The character ends up teleported to parts unknown by the Tessaract and presumed dead. This would be a great way to address his disappearance and give Weaving a chance to return to the role. — BM, GMA News
