James Gunn will also direct ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’
It’s almost time to check in again on the team of space misfits known as the Guardians of the Galaxy, with the upcoming "Vol. 2" bringing back Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as, respectively, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, and the voices of Rocket and Baby Groot.
After the movie's first press screening, positive reviews are filling the internet courtesy of lucky reviewers and media people who attended the event. Comic Book Movie has compiled these reactions, and it seems that James Gunn has followed up his 2014 baby with what is being called the “Marvel Cinematic Universe at its best.”
Speaking of Gunn, the director took to his official Facebook page to announce, in a very humble and dedicated post, that he is returning for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”, which he says will take place after the events of next year’s “Avengers: Infinity War.”
The third movie in the GOTG series, he said, "will conclude the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and help catapult both old and new Marvel characters into the next ten years and beyond."
Gunn added, "I will be working side-by-side with Kevin Feige and the gang to help design where these stories go, and make sure the future of the Marvel Cosmic Universe is as special and authentic and magical as what we have created so far.
"I promise you, the fans, I’ll do it all with integrity and love and respect for the characters."
