The Weeknd cancels Manila show in December
Canadian R&B artist The Weeknd has canceled his Manila concert on December 7, the event promoter announced on Friday.
MMI Live announced via Facebook that the cancellation was due to "production requirement issues."
The concert promoter said ticket refund will start on Tuesday, December 4, at 10:00 a.m. until March 4, 2019. Guidelines for the refund is available on its Facebook page.
"Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your continued patronage," the announcement read.
Tickets were priced from P2,650 for the General Admission Side View all the way up to VIP 1 Standing at P23, 850.
The Weeknd is a Grammy Award-winning star with an RIAA triple-platinum certification for cumulative sales in excess of 3 million for 2015’s "Beauty Behind Madness" album.
He also boasts of 16 RIAA certifications for tracks alone: "The Hills" at 7x platinum, "I Can’t Feel My Face" at 5x platinum, "Often" at double platinum, "In the Night" and "Acquianted" at a platinum each.
The Weeknd was supposed to have his show on December 7 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the fourth stop in his 8-city Asian tour that will kick off in Hong Kong and end in Tokyo, Japan. — MDM, GMA News
