A teaser trailer of the latest Star Wars episode has been released early Saturday morning (Manila time).

The puzzle as to what happens next after Luke Skywalker "dies" in Star Wars Episode VIII continues as a familiar voice says "We'll always be with you. No one's ever really gone."

And then that evil laugh at the end is also familiar to the hardcore fans. Emperor Palpatine?

Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, is shown at the start carrying a light saber and facing a space ship.

Also present were the new generation Star Wars characters played by John Boyega, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac.

Billy Dee Williams, who plays Lando Calrissian is back, with Chewbacca driving the Millennium Falcon.

The late Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia Organa, also makes an appearance in the short video.

"The saga comes to an end."

Now, that two-minute video is a real tease. The movie is set to be shown in theaters by December 2019. — BAP, GMA News
