Elmo visits King's Landing as part of #RespectBringsUsTogether campaign

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame  Street launches #Respect campaign in partnership with popular TV series, including HBO's Game of Thrones and Westworld.

Elmo, the adorable red puppet, convinces rival siblings Tyrion and Cersei Lannnister about respect and successfully delivers the message.

The caption of the video states, "Respect brings us together, and if anyone can convince @GameOfThrones's Cersei and Tyrion to get along, a familiar furry red friend might just be the one."

"If we can stop fighting and work together, we can be stronger. I'm willing to listen if you are," says Tyrion, played by Peter Dinklage.

In reply, Cersei - played by Lena Headey - says she is willing to work with her brother.

The video ends with the message, "Respect brings us together."

Cookie Monster, meanwhile, visits Westworld and convinces Dolores and Bernard to share a cookie as he sets the table "for a little respect."

"Respect important for everybody. People, monsters and even you robot lady," says Cookie Monster.

The two characters, played by Even Rachel Ward and Jeffrey Wright, end up enjoying the cookie their shared.

“Sesame Street was created in 1969, a time not unlike today, when there were large social divisions. A key purpose of the show has always been to model that everyone, no matter who you are or where you are from, deserves respect,” said Jeffrey D. Dunn, President and CEO of Sesame Workshop, in a post on the Sesame Workshop website.

“Half a century later, our society is increasingly divided on many issues, and we know that kids pick up on this tension. We have always shown preschoolers that everyone is welcome on Sesame Street. Our hope with this campaign is that a lighthearted look at a very serious subject can help us all pause for a moment to remember the value in respecting the viewpoints of others, even when they differ greatly from our own.” -- BAP, GMA News
