James Cameron lauds Marvel: 'It took Avengers to sink my Titanic'


James Cameron, legendary director of both the box office hit "Titanic" and "Avatar", congratulated "Avengers: Endgame" for surpassing "Titanic" and officially becoming the second biggest film of all time.

"Avengers: Endgame" hit the cinemas on April 24 and has garnered $2.188 billion in just a few days.

In just 11 days, the film became the fastest film to gross $2 billion globally, crushing "Avatar's" record as well of 47 days.

"Everyone here at Lightstorm Entertainment salutes your amazing achievement. You've shown that the movie industry is not only alive and well, it's bigger than ever," he added.

"Avengers: Endgame" had its numerous successes not only commercially but also in all its fans hearts, and although it sailed pass "Titanic, it has yet to beat Cameron's "Avatar".

Cameron also recently announced through Instagram that the second film of "Avatar" is set to be released by December 17, 2021.
