Young Pinoy filmmaker wins an International Emmys award in NY
Independent Filipino filmmaker and visual artist Breech Asher Harani won the 2019 JCS International Young Creatives Award at the International Emmy World Television Festival in New York City.
Harani received the award on Sunday for his one-minute film "Next to Me," which was based on a real-life story about a displaced Muslim girl's experiences as she transferred to a non-Muslim school.
His short video featured students from the Compostela National High School Media Arts Class.
The 28-year old filmmaker posted on Instagram a photo of his plaque, which was given to him by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

"Still can't get over how amazing this experience is," he wrote in his Instagram post.
Harani's short film was recognized as one of the three winners in the 2019 JCS International Young Creatives category on October 1, according to the International Emmy Award Twitter page.
