'Fullmetal Alchemist' and 'Hunter X Hunter' voice actor Keiji Fujiwara passes away


Japanese voice actor Keiji Fujiwara has passed away at 55.

His company Air Agency announced on its website that Fujiwara succumbed to cancer on April 12.

Fujiwara was a much celebrated voice actor in Japan. He had gone on a hiatus in 2016 to recover from an illness, but did not reveal what illness it was.

In his 30-year career, he had voiced iconic roles such as Maes Hughes in "Fullmetal Alchemist," Captain Hannes in "Attack on Titan," and Leorio in "Hunter x Hunter."

He also voiced characters in "Kingdom Hearts," "Eureka Seven," "Crayon Shin-chan," and many more.

He founded his own voice acting company Air Agency in 2006.
