'Lizzie McGuire' cast reunite in virtual script reading of iconic episode

Hilary Duff and the other cast members of "Lizzie McGuire" have reunited in a virtual script reading session of one of the show's iconic episodes.

The actress posted the 44-minute video call on Instagram on Monday.

"We could not stop laughing reading lines from tween us... this is the first time we were all 'together-ish in almost 18 years!" she said.

Duff, who played as the titular character of the show, said that Jake Thomas suggested the idea of a virtual table read of an old episode.

"I thought there’s no better way to cure boredom and to provide a little bit of entertainment for everyone who’s stuck at home," she added.

After inviting their viewers to donate to different fundraising events, Duff, along with the other cast members, read "Between a Rock and a Bra Place!" which aired 19 years ago.

In the episode, Lizzie and Miranda got their very first bras, thinking that it would make them popular in school.

Last year, Disney announced that they will be producing a new sequel series of "Lizzie McGuire," featuring the loved and all too relatable character all grown up.

The new sequel will star Duff herself again and will premiere on Disney's streaming service.

The original "Lizzie McGuire" series launched on Disney Channel back in 2001 and ran until 2004. The show revolved around 13-year-old Lizzie who struggled to get by amongst all the adolescence drama. —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
