Itaewon Class' Lee Joo Young to star in a new film, 'Baseball Girl'

South Korean actress Lee Joo Young will be starring in a new film titled "Baseball Girl," according to a report on Soompi.

Set to premiere in June, "Baseball Girl" follows Joo Soo In (Lee Joo Young) who has been training hard to achieve her dream to become a professional baseball player.

According to Soompi, Joo Soo In will be recognized as the "genius baseball girl" in the film for her ability to pitch at a maximum speed of 134kph.

But it's not easy. As she pursues her dream after high school, Joo Soo In will try to overcome discrimination and underestimation she receives for being a woman pursuing a career in professional baseball.

Things change when she meets her new coach Jin Tae (Lee Joon Hyuk).

According to Soompi, “Baseball Girl” has been invited to the 24th Busan International Film Festival. 

Lee Joo Young also starred in other hit K-drama series including "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," and "Itaewon Class."
