Fil-Am Francisco Martin finishes in the Top 5 of 'American Idol' 2020

Filipino American Francisco Martin officially finished his "American Idol" 2020 stint in the Top 5 on Monday, with Just Sam named as this year's American Idol.

For his last two performances Francisco sang "Adore You" by Harry Styles and "Alaska" by Maggie Rogers.

During his final performance, Francisco earned nothing but praises from judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan.

"That performance was an elevated version of what you gave to us in the beginning. You were so smooth," Katy told Francisco.

Katy also said that his performance sounded like "it was professionally recorded in a studio somewhere, that's how good it was."

Meanwhile, Luke said he's feeling sad that it's going to be the last time he will hear him perform in American Idol but he believes that "the sky's the limit" for his career.

Lionel said he couldn't help but smile whenever Francisco performs saying he has been a model student, "you have delivered the goods on graduation day." — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
