Justin Bieber files defamation lawsuit after sexual assault accusations

As Justin Bieber previously promised, he's taken legal action against two women who accused him of sexual assault.

According to CNN, the singer filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit in Los Angeles on Thursday, which describes the allegations as "fabricated lies.”

CNN obtained a copy of the lawsuit and said it mentions a woman known only as “Danielle,” who claimed she was assaulted by Bieber at a hotel in Austin, Texas in March 2014.

Danielle claimed that Bieber invited her and her friends to a private room after a surprise performance in front of a crowd and a bar.

Danielle’s tweets have since been deleted, but screenshots have been shared on social media.

The lawsuit says that while Bieber went to the restaurant, he “did NOT stay at the Four Seasons Hotel.”

On Twitter, Bieber also shared an article and screenshots from the day the alleged assault took place, which show him with his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

Accusations made by another woman identified as “Kadi” were also mentioned in the lawsuit.

Kadi had alleged on Twitter that she was sexually assaulted by Bieber in a New York hotel in May 2015.

The lawsuit, however, says Kadi’s accusation is false and that she had fabricated her allegation "out of her desire for fame and attention."

Kadi’s account was still active as of this posting, and continues to stand by her statement, which went viral on Twitter saying “I believe Danielle, I am a victim of sexual assault by Justin Bieber too.”

In an earlier tweet, Bieber had written about how “every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed.”

"However this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with twitter and authorities to take legal action,” the 26-year-old popstar said. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
