David Foster shares why he loves performing in the Philippines

David Foster has visited many countries after five decades in the music industry, but there's a reason that the Philippines occupies a special place in his heart.

In Nelson Canlas' report for "24 Oras," the world renowned composer said it's not just about the Filipinos' many voice talents—it's everyone love for music that really gets him.

"You can imagine, I'm on stage, I'm playing your songs to 10,000 people... and you stop singing, and the entire 10,000 people are singing every word in perfect English," Foster said.

"Because the Filipinos love their music. You guys take it to another level. So what's not to love playing for an audience like that?" he added.

Foster also said that Filipinos, whenever and wherever he finds them, never fail to show their gratitude to him for discovering Gerphil Flores and Jake Zyrus.

"I get thanked every day. I shouldn't be thanked, I found a talent, a great talent, and it was my privilege and honor," he said.

Foster's life and career is featured in a bio-documentary called "Off the Record." The film can be streamed on Netflix. —MGP, GMA News
