Millie Bobby Brown recalls fun moments with Henry Cavill and Sam Claflin while making 'Enola Holmes'
Your girl Millie Bobby Brown goes on an exciting mystery adventure as a a tough female detective-in-the-making in her latest film "Enola Holmes."
For her first-ever lead role in a full-length film, the 16-year-old British actress got to work alongside Henry Cavill ("Superman") and Sam Claflin ("Hunger Games"), who play Enola’s older brothers Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes, respectively.
During a recent virtual roundtable with the press, Millie talked about one very intense scene where Sam really left her in awe.
It was when Mycroft reprimands a tearful Enola during a carriage ride about being a "proper" young lady and doing as she's told, but having a love for solving mysteries and being raised by their free-thinking mother, she fights for what she believes in and becomes a brilliant detective in her own right.
"Sam is very funny man. [He] never stops joking, until one day, we did that really intense scene where he says 'You are my ward! You must do as you're told!' I was like, 'Oh, Sam,' I was like, 'Okay, I'll shut up!" Millie shared.
Nevertheless, as one of the film's producers, Millie loved how both Sam and Henry were open to her ideas and made her feel comfortable on set.
"I worked with these very different human beings that are incredibly talented and kind and, you know, they really let me feel comfortable around them, and I definitely gave them my ideas on how to be funny," Millie said.
"And, like I said, it was a collaborative effort, so working with them was definitely an experience that I will remember. And they're very good guys, (and) they're successful for a reason," she added.
"Enola Holmes," based on a series of novels by Nancy Springer, premiered on Netflix on Wednesday, September 23.
The film, directed by Harry Bradbeer, also stars Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes, the Holmes family matriarch, and Louis Partridge as Lord Tewksbury, who joins Enola in her adventures. —MGP, GMA News
