Robert Downey Jr. greets onscreen wife Gwyneth Paltrow a happy birthday

Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark may be gone, but #Pepperony is alive and well.

Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays Pepper Potts in Marvel's "Iron Man", just turned 48, and Robert dedicated a sweet post for his onscreen wife on Instagram.

“HBD to this absolute powerhouse. You deserve all the best today...and then a little bit more,” the actor wrote.

Downey also used the hashtags “#pepper” and “#pepperony,” which delighted a lot of Marvel fans.

Paltrow, on the other hand, thanked him in the comments with a sweet “I love you so so much.”

Downey and Paltrow have been each other's onscreen love interest since the “Iron Man” movie franchise began in 2008.

Downey plays Iron Man a.k.a. Tony Stark, a wealthy inventor who had a reputation as a playboy before admitting his feelings for his trusty assistant, Pepper Potts, played by Paltrow.

Both actors are happily married in real life, Downey to his wife, Susan, and Paltrwo to TV writer, director and producer Brad Falchuk. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
