GMA-7 Hollywood correspondent honored in L.A. Press Club's National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards

Janet Susan R. Nepales, who writes the "Hollywood Insider" column for GMA News Online, has been recognised by the Los Angeles Press Club in its 13th National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards, held virtually this year due to the pandemic.

Nepales won 2nd place in the Celebrity News category for her article "On the set of 'Insatiable 2' where Gloria Diaz is special guest" published in the Manila Bulletin.

A consistent awardee of the Los Angeles Press Club, Nepales is the first Filipina journalist member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization that presents the Golden Globe Awards.

Based in Los Angeles, Nepales is a University of Santo Tomas Journalism cum laude alum who was recognized by the Filipina Women’s Network (FWN) as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the U.S.” in 2012 and as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the World” in 2013. She is a co-author of the first FWN book entitled “DISRUPT: Filipina Women: Proud. Loud. Leading Without A Doubt.”

She is married to journalist-author Ruben V. Nepales with whom she has two daughters, Bianca Nicole and Rafaella Angelica. — LA, GMA News
