Jason Momoa takes fatherhood to the extreme in ‘Sweet Girl’

Looks like Jason Momoa is taking fatherhood to the extreme in an upcoming action movie called “Sweet Girl.”

According to Netflix, the “Aquaman” actor plays Ray Cooper, a father who vows justice against a pharmaceutical company responsible for pulling OUT a potentially life-saving drug from the market just before his wife dies from cancer.

However, a deadly encounter turns Ray’s mission into a quest to protect the only family he has left: His daughter, Rachel.

“Sweet Girl,” directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza, is set to premiere August 20, 2021 on Netflix.

Rachel is played by Isabela Merced, who starred in several action movies including “Transformers: The Last Knight,” “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” and “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.”

The cast also includes Justin Bartha, Amy Brenneman, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Raza Jaffrey, Lex Scott Davis and Michael Raymond-James. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
