Blackpink will no longer accept gifts from fans
Blackpink is no longer accepting gifts from fans, their agency YG Entertainment announced on Tuesday.
The K-pop idols' manager in charge of fan support delivered the news through a statement, according to a Soompi report.
"We will respectfully no longer be accepting any fan support or mailed gifts that fans prepare to celebrate Blackpink's special occasions," it read, pertaining to anniversaries, broadcasts, or concerts.
"We would be grateful if you would give the gifts and fan support you prepare to convey your love and celebrate these special days to places where they are more needed."
According to management, the "difficult" news came after the members "debated for a long time over the issue of fan support and gifts that fans have poured their hearts into preparing all these years."
The implementation of the rule started Tuesday. As such, gifts sent moving forward will be disposed.
"Aside from fan letters, please keep in mind that any mailed gifts or delivered packaged will either be returned or thrown away. We ask for fans' cooperation and understanding."
YG Entertainment thanked Blackpink's fans, the Blinks, for their support—especially on the group's fifth anniversary in August.
"This year, Blackpink members celebrated the fifth anniversary of their debut and, once again, received more congratulations from the fans than they could ever have asked for," YG said.
"Blackpink will continue to pursue an even wider variety of activities in the future, and they will work hard to become even cooler artists. Please continue to give them lots of interest and love."
Composed of Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo, Blackpink debuted in 2016 with the album "Square One."
