Park So Dam recovers from COVID-19, continues to receive treatment for thyroid cancer
Park So Dam has been revealed to contract COVID-19.
In a statement published by Soompi, the Korean actress's agency said she recently tested positive for the disease amid her regular treatments for papillary thyroid cancer.
"After her surgery, Park So Dam has been going to the hospital for regular treatments. She recently took a PCR test and it came back positive for COVID-19," they said.
"She is now out of quarantine and there are no issues with her health," they added.
So Dam underwent surgery after getting diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer late last year.
In her New Year's greetings, she shared a message to fans, urging them to be "healthy in both mind and body."
So Dam is known for her role in Bong Joon Ho’s global hit “Parasite,” which became the first non-English-language film and the first South Korean film ever to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards in February 2020.
The actress has also appeared in a number of South Korean movies and TV series like "The Priests" and "The Silenced.”
Her latest project is the film "Special Delivery." —JCB, GMA News
