NCT Dream says their music's color is growth, hopes fans notice their maturity in 'Glitch Mode'

With the release of their second full-length album "Glitch Mode," NCT Dream aims to embody maturity.

During an online press conference for their release, Doyoung said they have evolved from being a "high-teen concept" group to one "that represents youth."

Jisung said he personally believes that the group's "music color is growth." According to him, this is evident in how different they are now from their first song.

"If you listen to 'Chewing Gum,' you would think of us as cute children. It'd make you imagine how young you are. But if you listen to 'Glitch Mode,' you’ll see how much we've grown and matured," he said.

"We also feel that we’ve been maturing alongside our albums. I think that itself is our color," he added.

Even before its release last March 28, "Glitch Mode" had already caught the attention of fans worldwide, gaining a whopping number of over 2.7 million in pre-orders.

As of this writing, its music video has already attracted over 45 million views on YouTube. True to what they aim to show, it features moves that complement well with the song's message.

"The lyrics wittily express the moment of freezing when seeing someone you love, as if you're glitching," Haechan said. "It's so addicting that you won't be able to quit thinking after you listen."

"It tells a story of having that buffering moment when falling in love," Chenle added.

"Glitch Mode" features 11 songs including the title track, "Fire Alarm," "Arcade," "It's Yours," "Saturday Drip," "Teddy Bear," "Replay," "Better Than Gold," "Drive," "Never Goodbye," and "Rewind."

It follows their successful first full-length album "Hot Sauce," which was released just last May.

Composed of Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Chenle, Jaemin and Jisung, NCT Dream is a sub-unit of the K-Pop group NCT formed by SM Entertainment. They debuted in 2016.
