‘Star Wars’ stands with Moses Ingram amid racist attacks on actress: 'We resist'
The whole “Star Wars” franchise stands with Moses Ingram after the actress, who stars in "Obi-Wan Kenobi" as Reva, experienced racist attacks on social media.
Sharing photos of Moses on Twitter Tuesday, the franchise immediately said they are against what has been happening.
“We are proud to welcome Moses Ingram to the Star Wars family and excited for Reva’s story to unfold. If anyone intends to make her feel in any way unwelcome, we have only one thing to say: we resist.”
“There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don’t choose to be a racist.”
“Obi-Wan Kenobi” lead Ewan McGregor also expressed his dismay about the attacks made on Moses with a video posted on the same account.

Ewan was grateful for the fans who made the series the most watched Disney+ original series premiere, but emphasized that racism will not be left unnoticed despite their success.
“It seems that some from this influential fan base have started to attack Moses Ingram online and sent her the most horrendous racist DMs. I heard some of them this morning and it just broke my heart,” he said.
“Moses is a brilliant actor. She is a brilliant woman and she’s absolutely amazing in this series. She brings so much to the series, she brings so much to the franchise and it just sickened me to my stomach to hear that this has been happening.”
Also playing the role of executive producer in “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” Ewan added: “We stand with Moses. We love Moses and if you’re sending her bullying messages, you’re no Star Wars fan. In my mind, there’s no place for racism in this world and I totally stand with Moses.”
“Obi-Wan Kenobi” premiered exclusively on Disney+ last May 27. Directed by Deborah Chow, it also stars Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars) and Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader), among others. — LA, GMA News
