Jessi clarifies she's not retiring: 'I'm only getting started'

Following her departure from P Nation after three years, Jessi released a statement on Instagram to address some rumors.

“I understand people can make assumptions right now based on my current situation, but the truth shall reveal itself in a matter of time,” the South Korean rap star said.

An active artist since 2005, Jessi asked her supporters to respectfully give her time to rest and collect her thoughts.

“But one thing for sure is that this [girl] is [not] retiring. I’m only getting started,” Jessi wrote.

She then thanked her fans, called Jebbies, for their love and support. She ended her post by saying, “love you [P Nation] for life.”

It was announced on Wednesday that Jessi left P Nation after her exclusive contract expired. The agency founded by singer and producer PSY said in a statement that they will “continue to cheer on Jessi’s future path as an artist, and we will continuously support her diverse activities.”

Jessi is best known for her hits “ZOOM,” “NUNU NANA,” “Cold Blooded,” and “What Type of X.” She is set to hold her first concert in Manila this September. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
