Nick Carter breaks down in tears after Backstreet Boys pay tribute to Aaron Carter
Nick Carter was in tears following a tribute to his brother Aaron at the Backstreet Boys concert in London.
In a video posted by ABC7 on YouTube, one could see a photo of Aaron flashed at the concert with his name and the years he lived — “1987 – 2022” — written next to it.
After performing their single “No Place,” BSB member Kevin Richardson spoke to the crowd. “That song is very special to us because that song is about family,” he said.
As Kevin thanked their fans for being with them for 29 years, Nick could no longer hold back his tears. And as he cried, members Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and Brian Littrell walked to give Nick a hug.
“Tonight, we’ve got a little bit of heavy hearts because we lost one of our family members yesterday,” Kevin added. “And we just wanted to find that moment in our show to recognize him.
“Nick’s little brother, Aaron Carter, passed away yesterday at [34] years old,” he said.
The Backstreet Boys also posted a black-and-white photo with Aaron on Instagram, with the simple caption “RIP” with a white dove and heart emojis.
A heartbroken Nick also paid tribute to Aaron on Instagram, saying that despite their complicated relationship, “my love for him has never ever faded.”
