Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and others mourn passing of original Sesame Street cast member Bob McGrath

What a sad day in the neighborhood.

Sesame Street original cast member Bob McGrath passed away on Monday (Philippine time) at age 90, and on Instagram Wednesday, various Sesame Street characters continued to mourn his passing.

"Me eating an apple today for me friend Bob," Cookie Monster said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Oscar the Grouch said "Bob was one of the nicest persons I ever knew. He was my perfect opposite."

Big Bird, however, said it best: "Thank you for always being my friend, Bob. I love you."

On Instagram, the Sesame Street account put together all their tweets in a tribute post and said, "Your furry friends love you, Bob. And so do we."

In another IG post, Sesame Street shared a carousel of old photos of Bob with various Sesame Street cast members and thanked him "for your warmth, sincerity and sharing our joy through the years."

"We love you, Bob," Sesame Street added.
