Jenna Ortega works her magic on 'Scream 6' movie trailer
Fresh off the incredibly successful "Wednesday," Jenna Ortega is back this time as college student tara on "Scream 6."
In the latest installment of the horror film franchise, survivors of the Ghostface killings try to start fresh in New York City.
But the killer is still after them.
"Scream 6" focuses on Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown), Chad (Mason Gooding), and Tara (Jenna Ortega) attending college in the Big Apple, with Tara's sibling Sam (Barrera) tagging along to protect her sis.
In an interview with EW, Jenna says her character Tara is "avoiding her trauma and desperately trying to reclaim her teenage experience and become normal college student."
"There's a lot of tension between her and Sam, she feels as though she's too protective and unwilling to allow them both to move on. She feels suffocated," she adds.
The trailer hits the ground running with a heart-pounding scene, showing off the movie's stellar cast, which includes Jenna Ortega ("Wednesday"), Courteney Cox ("Friends"), Hayden Panettiere ("Heroes"), Melissa Barrera ("Scream") Dermot Mulroney ("My Best Friend's Wedding"), and Liana Liberato ("The Best of Me").
In case you were wondering why Neve Campbell was nowhere to be found, "People" magazine reported she had departed the franchise over a pay dispute.
Neve said, "And as a woman in this business, I think it's really important for us to be valued and to fight to be valued. I honestly don't believe that if I were a man and had done five installments of a huge blockbuster franchise over 25 years, that the number that I was offered would be the number that would be offered to a man."
"Scream 6" is scheduled to be released in the Philippines on March 8, 2023. — LA, GMA Integrated News
