Remaining BTS members to enlist in military by end of year — report
BTS's Jungkook, Jimin, V, Suga, and RM are all set to enlist in the military by the end of 2023.
According to a report from a Korean media outlet citing industry officials, the five remaining members will enter the military in succession after wrapping up their schedules.
Suga is currently on a world tour while Jungkook has solo activities.
The report added that V and Jungkook decided to enlist sooner rather than later despite being allowed to postpone it due to their age.
The group aims to align their discharge dates so they can return on stage together as soon as possible.
BTS's eldest member, Jin, started his mandatory military service in 2022, followed by J-Hope in April.
After they all fulfill their military service, BTS is expected to reconvene as a group sometime in 2025.
Earlier this month, Seoul marked BTS' 10th anniversary.
The group has been called "icons of progressive globalism" and are credited with bringing K-pop into the global mainstream and generating billions of dollars for the South Korean economy.
