'Squid Game' star Oh Young Soo faces imprisonment for indecent assault charges

South Korean actor Oh Young Soo is facing a one-year jail term for allegedly sexually harassing a woman in 2017.

According to a report by Korean media outlet Korea JoongAng Daily, the "Squid Game" star was indicted on charges of sexual misdemeanor.

The victim, a former member of a theater troupe, which Oh Young Soo was in, alleged that he groped and kissed her while they were outside.

On Friday, prosecutors requested jail terms for the 79-year-old man, saying he "expressed his desire for youth in an inappropriate way" while drinking with her in 2017.

When the victim asked for an apology, he claimed she was like a daughter to him, which frustrated the victim.

Along with the sentence, the prosecutors also requested an employment restriction.

Oh Young Soo said that it is “miserable that the last chapter of my life to end in such a way, making my whole life fall apart.”
