Sarah Michelle Gellar honors Michelle Trachtenberg with moving 'Buffy' quote
Sarah Michelle Gellar took to Instagram to pay tribute to Michelle Trachtenberg, who played her younger sister on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
Posting photos of the two of them through the years, Sarah Michelle rewrote a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” quote to honor her late friend.
"Michelle, listen to me. Listen. I love you. I will always love you. The hardest thing in this world, is to live in it. I will be brave. I will live… for you."
The original line was said by Buffy (Sarah Michelle) to Dawn (Michelle). In an emotional scene in the supernatural drama series, the lead character told her younger sister to be brave and live.
Other “Buffy” co-stars who paid tribute to Michelle include Alyson Hannigan, James Marsters, David Boreanaz, and Emma Caulfield.
Michelle passed away on Wednesday, according to her public relations team.
The cause of her death is not known.
Born in 1985, Michelle started as a child actress. She appeared in the Nickelodeon series "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" in 1994 and the movie “Harriet the Spy” in 1996.
Aside from “Buffy,” she was also known for her role as Georgina Sparks on "Gossip Girl.”
She also starred in the films "Killing Kennedy," "Sister Cities," and the science fiction film "The Scribbler."
