Kim Sae Ron's husband confirms marriage with actress but denies abuse, pregnancy allegations

Kim Sae Ron's husband confirms marriage with actress but denies abuse, pregnancy allegations

Kim Sae Ron's husband has come clean regarding the issues involving him and the late actress.

In a statement aired through HoverLab Inc., Sae Ron's husband whose name was kept confidential, said he spoke up because there "have been so many distorted facts that are being spread," and wanted to "set the facts straight."

This comes after YouTuber Lee Jin Ho and someone who claimed to be Kim Sae Ron's ex-boyfriend claimed that the actress was pregnant and had suffered abuse from her husband.

According to the husband, he met the late actress around mid-to-late November 2024 through an acquaintance. The two quickly had "strong attraction to each other," and despite the short time, he and Sae Ron got married on January 12, 2025 in the United States where he currently lives.

The report also showed a copy of Sae Ron and her husband's marriage certificate which was administered in New Jersey.

"Later, we decided to void the marriage upon agreement from both parties, due to the fact that we got married too quickly without serious consideration out of having fallen in love, as well as due to practical problems of a long-distance relationship, and differences in personalities," he said in a statement translated by several media outlets.

He also denied the allegations of abuse to Kim Sae Ron as it was not possible to do such an act considering the state of their American home.

"The house I am currently residing in, in America, is a quiet apartment complex with very weak soundproofing. It is built such that if assault had taken place, the floor below would immediately make a report. In addition, assault in America results in strong legal responsibility. I am someone who has received a thorough upbringing in America," he said.

He furthered that the actress has visited him three times in the US, and she could've easily stopped if he was abusive.

"After I met Kim Sae Ron for the first time, from November 2024 to February 2025, we have met up a total of four times. Apart from the first time I met her in November 2024, as I have to go to work, the last three times were when she came to visit me in America every month. If I did really lock her up and assault her, why would Kim Sae Ron voluntarily come to America each time?" he said.

"For myself, I also felt sorry that she had to sit through a long flight and go through the strict immigrations procedure at the airport, so I did my best financially and emotionally for her, so that she would be content whenever she visited America," the husband added, urging those who accused him  to publicize the photos of the physical abuse.

Her husband also refuted the pregnancy claims made by YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, highlighting that they were not thinking about children and that Sae Ron was taking contraceptive pills.

"It is completely not true that she was pregnant. Rumors of her pregnancy came around January 2025, but we first met in mid-to-late November 2024. That was when we first met, and we started getting serious around the end of November when she visited America. The timelines do not match up."

"It is a severe form of humiliation of the late Kim Sae Ron to claim that she was threatened into marriage due to pregnancy, etc. Who gets married due to threats?" he continued.

The husband said that "they both loved each other" with Sae Ron passionately agreeing to the marriage.

"We both loved each other, and Kim Sae Ron also passionately agreed to the marriage, showing that she wanted to proceed with it. I can provide evidence for this," he said.

He then revealed that someone who claimed to be Sae Ron's male cousin previously reached out to him and tried to provoke him by asking about the assault allegations.

"When I said that I would be taking legal actions, they immediately stopped contacting me. If needed, I will request for a fair and just police inspection. Please immediately cease the spread of falsehoods about a deceased person's personal life," he said.

Ending his statement, he urged Lee Jin Ho and other involved in the issue to stop spreading false information about the actress.

Kim Sae Ron died by suicide in February. She was 24.

Kim Sae Ron was known for her roles in the films "A Brand New Life," and "The Man From Nowhere." She also appeared in the series "Hi! School Love On," "Can You Hear my Heart," and "The Queen's Classroom," among others.
