'Pretty Little Baby' singer Connie Francis passes away

American singer Connie Francis, known for the hit songs "Pretty Little Baby" and "Stupid Cupid," has passed away. She was 87 years old.

Connie's death was announced via Facebook by Ron Roberts, her friend and president of Concetta Records, the music label wholly owned by Connie.

"It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night. I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news. More details will follow later," he wrote on Thursday (Philippine time).

Roberts' post was also shared by Connie's official and verified Facebook page.

In late June, Connie announced on Facebook that she had undergone a series of tests to find out the cause of the pelvic pain on her right side. On July 3, she shared that she had been transferred to a private room following examinations in intensive care.

She posted again on Facebook on July 4, where she shared that she was "feeling much better after a good night."

According to a report by People, Connie is survived by her son.

Connie is known for her songs in the '50s and '60s, such as "Stupid Cupid," "Pretty Little Baby," "Who's Sorry Now?" "You're Gonna Miss Me," "Lipstick On Your Collar," and more.

"Pretty Little Baby" also became a viral hit more than six decades after its release as it found its way to TikTok videos.
