Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband Brandon Blackstock passes away

Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband and talent manager, has passed away after a battle with cancer. He was 48 years old.

A representative confirmed the death to People Magazine in a statement.

"Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family,” the representative said.

“We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.” 

Prior to Brandon’s death, Kelly postponed her show dates in Las Vegas to be with her family.

“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she said on Instagram.

“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,” she added.

Kelly and Brandon got married in 2013. They have two kids together.

In 2020, Kelly filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. It was finalized in 2022. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
