Ed Sheeran confirms learning about Taylor Swift’s engagement on Instagram

Ed Sheeran has confirmed he learned about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement through Instagram.

In a clip shared by “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on TikTok, Taylor recounted the funny reason she didn’t personally tell Ed about her engagement.

“He doesn’t have a phone,” Taylor said in between laughs.

She went on to explain that shortly after getting engaged, she was scrolling through her contacts, thinking of who to call to share the news.

Taylor said that since Ed doesn’t have a phone, “You have to email him, and then if you want to FaceTime, he has to find an iPad.”

“[He is] one of my absolute favorite people on the planet, and when the news came out, I was like, ‘Oh my God, we forgot to call Ed!’” she said.

“He’s like family, I love him, but he doesn’t have a phone,” she added.

In the comment section, Ed confirmed Taylor’s side of the story was indeed true.

“Hello from my allotted iPad time, this is factual,” he added.

To top it off, Ed’s TikTok video of himself relaxing by the beach with his eyes glued to his iPad resurfaced, further proving Taylor’s point.

Taylor and Travis announced their engagement on Instagram in August.

Earlier in October, the pop superstar released her latest album, “The Life of a Show Girl,” which includes the tracks “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Opalite,” and “Eldest Daughter.”
