BTS share more details about comeback album 'Arirang' in livestream

BTS gave some fun facts about their upcoming comeback album “Arirang” with ARMYs during a Weverse Live session on Friday.

Apparently, the “Arirang” logo was designed by Jungkook!

“When we were working in the US, I made about four sketches and sent it to the company,” Jungkook said, according to a translation.

RM also shared that they worked on over a hundred songs while creating the album, but only 14 made it to the final record.

The other members said some of the shelved songs might end up in their solo albums in the future.

The group is also well aware that the title of their album name, “Arirang,” has made waves.

They explained that it "really suits us."

“It feels like our roots. I think it’s something that can show that side of us,” J-Hope said.

Jungkook agreed and said, “It can tie it all together well.”

There are many ways to interpret "Arirang," leader RM said.

“The lyrics, and I think it’s about aching and longing and love,” he said.

“And when I was in the military, I thought a lot about things like that. I thought a lot about the past and performing,” he added.

“Arirang” comes out on March 20, Friday at 12 p.m. Philippine time.

The title is based off a centuries-old Korean folk song which has multiple variations. It is also considered the country's unofficial anthem.

"Arirang" is BTS’ first project as a group in four years. This comes after the members completed their mandatory military service.

The band is set to go on a world tour starting this year, with a Philippine stop happening in 2027.

The last time that BTS performed in Manila was in May 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena for the “BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour in Manila.”

In recent years, the members have focused on solo projects. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
