Meryl Streep tells Mimiyuuuh: Fashion will not exist without LGBT+ community

Mimiyuuuh just had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do a sit-down interview with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, the main stars of "The Devil Wears Prada 2."

During the exclusive interview held in Tokyo, Japan, the Filipina content creator donned a red dress inspired by a design from fictional designer James Holt in "The Devil Wears Prada."

In their short talk, Mimiyuuuh asked Meryl and Anne about their reaction to the support of the LGBT+ community for both the first film and the upcoming sequel.

"There would be no fashion in the world without the LGBT community," Meryl said.

"Nothing but gratitude and worry about how we're judged," she added, followed by a laugh.

Meanwhile, Anne said she believes it wouldn't be possible to have a sequel without the support of the LGBT+ community.

"So much is owed, and we're so grateful," she said.

Meanwhile, Mimiyuuuh said she is "forever grateful" for the experience of meeting and talking with the Hollywood stars.

"Hindi pa rin po ako makapaniwala na I got the chance to meet these icons in this lifetime," she said.

Aside from Meryl and Anne, the highly anticipated sequel will also see the return of Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, as well as the appearance of "Bridgerton" star Simone Ashley.

"The Devil Wears Prada 2" is set for a theatrical release on April 29.

Part of the sequel will take place in Milan, Italy, Reuters reported.

The original "The Devil Wears Prada" film was adapted from Lauren Weisberger's 2003 bestselling novel of the same name. The movie was a box-office success, earning $326.7 million worldwide.

A stage musical adaptation, featuring music by Elton John, premiered in 2022.
