Lexi Minetree shares how Reese Witherspoon guided her through becoming the new Elle Woods
Lexi Minetree shared how Reese Witherspoon supported her as she took on the role of a young Elle Woods for the upcoming “Legally Blonde” prequel series “Elle.”
In an interview with Kapuso reporter Lyn Ching, Lexi recalled feeling intimidated when she first met Reese.
“She’s amazing. I remember the first time I met her, I was so intimidated to meet her because she's Reese Witherspoon and enough said, but she's been so incredible this whole journey,” she said.
Despite Reese’s iconic status, Lexi said their communication has become more casual over time, sharing that she can now easily reach out to her.
“It’s weird that I can just send her a voice memo and then she responds back, and I’m like, ‘One sec, Reese sent me something. Let me listen to it,’” Lexi said.
The actress also revealed the advice Reese gave her while navigating the demanding production schedule, emphasizing the importance of taking care of herself during the process.
“She’s given me so much advice just like really to take care of myself because it honestly is a marathon,” she said.
“I mean we're on set sometimes upwards of 15 hours a day and then we get home and we have to prep, and just making sure we get enough sleep and water and, you know, rest. She's good to remind us of that,” she added.
"Elle" will follow the story of Elle's high school life before she became a Harvard-educated lawyer in “Legally Blonde.” The series is set to premiere on July 1 on Prime Video.
In the first "Legally Blonde" movie, released in 2001, Elle attempts to win back her ex-boyfriend by earning a degree from Harvard Law School, but ends up becoming a successful lawyer in the process.
In the 2003 sequel "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde," Elle heads to Washington, D.C. to fight for animal rights before eventually setting her sights on the White House. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA News
