Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship timeline: From a friendship bracelet to a happily ever after
It's a love story, and she said yes!
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance has captivated fans since dating rumors first emerged in 2023. What started with a missed chance to give the pop superstar a friendship bracelet eventually blossomed into one of entertainment's most talked-about relationships.
The couple got engaged in August 2025, and now they are reportedly married, with the New York Post's Page Six reporting that Taylor and Travis exchanged vows in a private ceremony attended by a small group of loved ones ahead of an expected celebration at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Here's a look back at the major milestones in Taylor and Travis' love story.
July 2023: It starts with a friendship bracelet
Travis attended Taylor's Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, hoping to personally give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.
He wasn't able to meet the singer, later explaining on his New Heights podcast that Taylor was resting her voice ahead of performing her lengthy setlist.
“I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he said. “But I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”
September 2023: Taylor cheers for Travis at an NFL game
Rumors intensified when Taylor attended the Kansas City Chiefs' game against the Chicago Bears.
She watched from a suite alongside Travis' mother, Donna Kelce, before leaving the stadium with the NFL star after the Chiefs' win.
Days later, Travis took to New Heights once again and praised Taylor's visit.
“Shout-out to Taylor for pulling up,” Travis said. “That was pretty ballsy. I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her, the friends and family. She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in great light, and on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course.”
November 2023: Families meet at the Eras Tour
By November of the same year, their relationship had become more public as Travis joined Taylor's father, Scott Swift, in a VIP section during an Eras Tour concert.
During the show, Taylor surprised fans by changing the lyrics of "Karma" to, "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me," a nod to Travis. The football star later joked that he was so caught up in the moment that he accidentally left Scott hanging on a high-five.
January-February 2024: Championship kisses
After the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game, Taylor and Travis celebrated on the field with a kiss, sealing one of the couple's most memorable public moments.
The following month, Taylor flew from Tokyo to Las Vegas to watch Super Bowl LVIII, where she celebrated another Chiefs victory with Travis.
June 2024: Instagram official and an Eras Tour cameo
Taylor and Travis made their relationship Instagram official by sharing a backstage photo from the Eras Tour in London alongside Prince William and two of his children, who attended the concert for the royal's birthday celebration.
The next evening, Travis surprised fans by joining Taylor on stage. Dressed in a top hat and tails, he briefly appeared as part of the performance, carrying Taylor across the stage during the transition into "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."
Although it was his only appearance during the Eras Tour, Travis continued attending several of Taylor's European concerts before returning to NFL training camp.
August 2025: Taylor and Travis get engaged
In August 2025, Taylor and Travis announced their engagement with a joint Instagram post.
"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," the caption said.
The post featured photos of Travis proposing in a garden filled with pink and white flowers, including one image of him on one knee and another highlighting Taylor's engagement ring.
June 2026: Wedding rumors abound
In June, the rumor mill went on overdrive about Taylor and Travis' nuptials, with the Madison Square Garden as the reported venue and June 13 as the reported wedding date.
