Sam Smith confirmed they are engaged to fashion designer Christian Cowan!

The Grammy-winning singer revealed the news in a July 2026 interview with The New York Times.

According to Sam, ‘Everlasting Love,’ the opening track of their upcoming album “Hazel Eyes,” was written the night before their first date with Cowan. It was finished as their relationship blossomed.

As quoted by The New York Times, Smith said the album marks the first time they have written “about requited love,” describing it during a sold-out show in San Francisco as a celebration of a queer relationship.

In 2019, the “Stay With Me” hitmaker came out as non-binary and goes by the pronouns they/them.

Sam and Christian sparked dating rumors after being spotted out together in December 2022.

In May, it was reported that the couple was “overheard talking about their engagement” at the Mark Hotel before heading to the Met Gala 2026 together. — LA, GMA News
