Nic Cabañero drops 53 for Biñan against Pasig, sets new MPBL scoring record

Nic Cabañero set a new MPBL scoring record after dropping 53 points in Biñan’s 121-79 victory over Pasig on Thursday.

Cabañero eclipsed the previous record of 50 points, set by Jeff Viernes for Sarangani in 2023.

Aside from his 53 points, 31 of which came in the final quarter, Cabañero also recorded 22 rebounds and 10 assists in the victory.

His fourth-quarter scoring output also surpassed the 22-point record set by San Juan’s Orlan Wamar last year.

Biñan improved to 21-4, while Pasig slipped to 11-12.

In other games, Quezon defeated Basilan, 97-76, while Abra beat Caloocan, 81-59.
