UAAP: Back together at La Salle, old friends Luis Pablo, Seven Gagate happy for reunion

Big men Luis Pablo and Seven Gagate are back together on the court — this time back wearing the green and white again for De La Salle University, making their reunion all the more special.

In the high school ranks, the two played together at La Salle Green Hills, where they reached the finals of the NCAA Season 98 juniors basketball tournament before falling to Andy Gemao and the Letran Squires.

They then moved to the UAAP in the seniors, playing together at the University of the Philippines in their rookie year before going their separate ways, as Pablo transferred to La Salle first.

Now Gagate has followed suit and the two are happy to come full circle.

“Really happy because it’s been two years or more since the last time we played together. It was a surreal feeling earlier that we’re both playing together again for the green and white,” Pablo told GMA News Online.

“I got goosebumps earlier because we both went to UP together then La Salle, it’s like a full circle moment.”

“We’ re super blessed that we have another chance to prove ourselves, this time with the Green Archers,” he added.

Gagate, meanwhile, said he was happy to find his way back home to La Salle.

“It’s so surreal. I found my way back home so there, I just gotta keep working hard,” Gagate said after returning to the UAAP following an injury and completing his residency at La Salle.

“I said, it’s been so long since we played together, since we were rookies and LSGH, so we’re happy that we’re back being teammates and playing together again.”

Pablo was among La Salle’s leaders in its 89-87 victory over National University, finishing with 16 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and an assist.

Gagate, meanwhile, had two points, two rebounds, and an assist in seven minutes of action.
