NBA: 2013 All-Star Game heads to Houston 

The NBA announced on Wednesday (Thursday, PHL time) that the 62nd NBA All-Star Weekend will take place in Houston, home of the league’s Rockets franchise.

 

In the statement, NBA Commissioner David Stern said, "Houston is a spectacular sports city and for one week it will be the basketball capital of the world." 

 

This will be the third time Houston has been named host, having held the event in 1989 and in 2006.

 

Karl Malone was named All-Star MVP in 1989, while Lebron James became the youngest player to win MVP honors in the All-Star Game in 2006. 

 

This year's All-Star Weekend takes pace in Orlando, from February 24 to 26 (25 to 27, PHL time). — Adrian Dy/RSJ, GMA News
