NBA: Tim Duncan says he is 'a Spur for life'

Three wins away from a return to the NBA Finals, San Antonio Spurs stalwart Tim Duncan told Yahoo Sports' Johnny Ludden that despite his free agent status after this season, he is "a Spur for life." The former overall number one draft pick in 1997 is currently on the books for $21.3 million, but his current contract expires once his team wins the NBA Championship or gets eliminated. That said, Ludden writes that Duncan has "little interest" in entertaining offers from other teams. "No…I'm not going anywhere," said Duncan. "You can print that wherever you want. I'm here and I'm a Spur for life." The 36-year-old averaged a career-low 13.5 points and 8.9 rebounds last season, but in the midst of a lockout-shortened year, has appeared rejuvenated, upping his numbers to 15.4 points and 9.0 rebounds in over 28 minutes. In the opening game of the Western Conference Finals last Sunday (Monday, PHL time), Duncan provided 16 points and 11 rebounds, helping the Spurs come from behind late against the Oklahoma City Thunder, 101-98. Duncan is looking for his fifth NBA championship ring. - AMD/RSJ, GMA News
