NBA: Raptors have agreement with Knicks' Fields
The Toronto Raptors have a verbal agreement in place with New York Knicks restricted free agent Landry Fields for a three-year deal, ESPN's Marc Stein reported. According to Stein's sources, the deal approaches $20 million over the three years. It is however done in such a way that the contract is back-loaded, with a significant jump in the amount paid in the third year of the deal, similar to the Houston Rockets' offer to Chicago Bull restricted free agent Omer Asik. Fields plans to sign the Raptors' offer sheet once the moratorium on player contracts is lifted on July 11 (July 12, PHL time). Once he does, the Knicks will have three days to decide whether or not to match the offer. The second-year pro averaged 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals, playing in all the regular season games last season. - AMD, GMA News
