NBA: Knicks acquire Marcus Camby, send Toney Douglas, picks to Rockets

The New York Knicks solidified their front court rotation by acquiring veteran center Marcus Camby in a sign-and-trade deal with the Houston Rockets, giving up multiple draft picks and players in the process, reports Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Camby, a trade deadline acquisition by Houston, was inked to a three-year deal worth $13.2 million, with the third year only being partially guaranteed. The 38-year-old played 19 games for the Rockets, starting 13, and averaged 7.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.5 blocks in 24.1 minutes. He is expected to back-up reigning Defensive Player of the Year Tyson Chandler. Camby played four seasons for the Knicks from 1998 to 2002, and was part of the team that was the first eighth seeded squad to reach the NBA Finals during the 1998-99 season. In exchange for Camby, the Rockets received New York's second round picks in 2014 and 2015, as well as the unguaranteed deals of Josh Harrellson and Jerome Jordan, and rotation player Toney Douglas. According to Wojnarowski, the Rockets "refuse to give up on the Dwight Howard derby, gathering more assets to try and entice the Orlando Magic to engage in [trade] talks." Earlier in the day, Wojnarowski also reported that the Knicks have re-signed shooter Steve Novak to a four year, $15 million deal. Both off-season moves cannot be completed until July 11 (July 12, PHL time), when the moratorium on new contracts is lifted.  - AMD, GMA News
