NBA: Celtics bolster bench with Barbosa signing

The Boston Celtics added more firepower to their bench by signing free agent guard Leandro Barbosa to a one-year deal, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

The 29-year-old Barbosa split last season between the Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers, and averaged 11.1 points on 42.5 percent field goal shooting, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in the lockout-shortened regular season. His numbers fell drastically in the playoffs however, to just 5.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 11 games through the Eastern Conference semifinals. Barbosa is expected to come off the bench, joining another offseason acquisition, former Dallas Maverick Jason Terry. Boston also signed Courtney Lee during the summer, who is expected to be the starter while Avery Bradley recovers from offseason shoulder surgery. - AMD, GMA News
