NBA-DL: SC Warriors win exhibition game, but Japeth Aguilar sees just 11 minutes
Japeth Aguilar logged just 11 minutes of action during the Santa Cruz Warriors' 129-126 triple-overtime win against the Texas Legends, Sunday (Monday, PHL time), as part of the Development League's Preseason Jamboree in Oklahoma.
Coming off the bench, Aguilar saw the fewest minutes of the nine players that hit the court for the Warriors. He missed the sole shot he attempted, but got three rebounds and an assist without committing a turnover, although he did give up three fouls.
Dominique Johnson led Santa Cruz with 26 points on 7-of-19 shooting, while Taylor Griffin, brother of Blake Griffin, tallied 20 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out.
Second overall pick in the 2012 D-League draft Chris Douglas-Roberts led all scorers with 49 points. He also managed seven rebounds, eight assists, three steals and a block.
The Warriors had also won their first preseason match, besting the Tulsa 66ers, 95-79, Saturday (Sunday, PHL time).
After entering training camp with a 17-man roster, the Warriors have since waived five players: Arron Mollet, Harouna Mutombo, Darren Moore, TJ Robinson and Steve Tchiengang.
D-League rosters have a maximum of 12 players, with at most 10 being D-League players, plus two or more who have been assigned from the NBA, meaning the Warriors must still release at least two players.
The D-League season formally begins on November 23 (November 24, PHL time), although the Warriors don't play their first game until November 30 (December 1, PHL time), versus the Reno Bighorns. - AMD, GMA News
