The Dallas Mavericks are set to bring in veteran point guard Derek Fisher, Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle said following their 101-78 loss to the Chicago Bulls, Wednesday (Thursday, PHL time).

The move comes on the heels of the team holding out starter Darren Collison from the Chicago game, listing him as inactive due to "a sprained right middle finger." Collison had come off the bench for their previous outing, a 100-98 defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers, where he logged a little less than 30 minutes, finishing with 12 points, three rebounds, six assists, five steals, and four turnovers.
In the past two games, Dominique Jones has taken the starting point guard role for Dallas.
The 38-year-old Fisher last season split his time between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, following a mid-season trade to the Houston Rockets, which waived him, allowing the Western Conference champs to pick him up.
In 20 minutes per game, Fisher normed 4.9 points while shooting 34.3 percent from the field, 1.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 20 regular season games for OKC. In the playoffs, his numbers saw a slight bump up to 6.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
The Mavericks currently have 15 players on their roster, and will have to waive a player, or make a trade to create a spot for Fisher. - AMD, GMA News
